The Ten Commandments of Lasting Marriage

Pastor Ezekiel O William

Commandment #1
Build your home and marriage on the Christ model of marriage, remember Christ's bride is the church .
It must begin and end in Him.................

Commandment #2.
Love your spouse more when they don't deserve it!
As humans with behavioural differences , times come when we are not lovable, when in essence do not truly deserve to be loved but that's where friendship stops and love begins ,
Love is not only tested and measured when everything is rossy but the going gets tough : love means forever admiration and care. Your spouse needs your love the most when they least deserve it............

Commandment #3.
Let no one come between you and your spouse .
Your marriage should have three circle one at the centre and two on the sides , God at the centre and the couple on the sides, let all communication , suggestions be directed to Him and not a third party ,
Third parties sometimes may listen and show concern but matter of factly, 70% of them are happy that you have the problem. Your spouse is your best friend and Christ is your guide , let Him lead you all the way through thick and thin...

Commandment #4.
Don't take your ego along with you.....
Take everything you've learned and owned but drop your ego' in your father's house before joining your spouse .
Leave that feeling of being too big or being better than everyone behind , face the reality with your spouse, you are in this together to help each other and the truth be told , There are better moments and bitter moments , oftentimes bitter because you feel insulted by remaining in the union , not being able to revenge , arrest or return the insult ....... Remember , until you learn to see your spouse and yourself as a work in progress you won't stop over-rating yourself and under-valuing your spouse.

Commandment #5
Disagree Agreeably : it is a fact that no two people can live together without finding something to disagree on , but when you do especially in relationships and marriage , Resolve to talk together about it and the way forward , don't hold on to your side and neither should you discount your spouse's opinion , rather discuss the matter neutrally together and reach a common point .

Commandment #6
Don't go to bed angry.
The devil has no other strategy for breaking homes than to instigate quarrels between the two and no one will be willing to take the blame or apologize . when such times come , remember your marriage vow and allow peace reign and oftentimes , Marriage is the place where accepting blame for an offence you didn't commit works fine .
Protect Your marriage , keep your home ...

Commandment #7
Your Spouse is Your Best Friend
Your Husband/Wife is the most important personality in your life so treat them as such.
Trouble often stems from treating our spouses like our friends , your spouse deserves that honour of being treated as your best friend ...... Remember your spouse chose you above several persons , so treat them well...

Commandment #8
Don't Neglect Your Home!
Oftentimes in marriage this simple fact brings great problems, we get carried away with everything we are engaged in especially we the servants of God , we are always on the mission field forgetting that the greatest and most powerful mission is to build Your Home.

Your Home is your Primary Ministry , if you neglect it , you can't succeed working for God , never abandon your home while you claim to be working for God...... Your family needs you remember Eli's Prophetic Ministry was truncated because of his failed Home Ministry.
You'll not fail in Jesus Name .

Commandment #9
Always Remember Your Family Needs You
In your daily assignment and tasks always remember that your family needs you around
Your money and or gifts can make them smile but your presence adds more flavour to the equation
The greatest gift any man it woman can give their family is their presence and attention ......

Commandment #10
Keep the Rest Nine Commandments........
Having explored the nine vital commandments of lasting relationships , the most important part of the rule is to remember and practice it all daily like the words of Joshua 1:8
Read the rules everyday and apply them in your homes , marriages and relationships

All thanks to God for the completion of this series , I'm sure you and yours have been immensely blessed by this great piece .........
I have been blessed too.......
Good morning and have a blessed day

A Christian Home!

A Christian Home

References : 2cor 1:12, Titus 2:12, 1 Tim 2:2 , 2Tim 4:7
Pastor Ezekiel O. William(c)

A christian home! One burning desire in the heart of every man and woman today is 'Lord I want to build a home' everyone desires a good wife , husband and obedient children, the embodiment of an ideal home but we do not sit to consider the qualities of the ideal home.

A christian home is the ideal home that longs after the will of the father , a home set apart in righteousness and in all meekness. A home built after the model of Christ (1Tim 4:12)
No couple ever desires wayward children and broken homes , we all want the ideal home where God dwells .
One question is 'why is our dream not always realised , homes are breaking up per second , children and youth becoming wayward and we begin to wonder what really happened and where did we get it wrong? I've discovered one thing to be true in all cases ' a man who fails to plan has failed even before start ' most of us only dream of the perfect t home, we share the dream with our family but how many of us work it out?

You can't build the ideal home by mere speculation , wishes or dreams , it requires careful and dedicated preparation and action. One of my favorite family hymns has this wonderful lyrics ……….

God give us Christian homes
Homes where the Bible is loved and taught
Homes where the master's will is sought
Homes crowned with beauty thy love has wrought
God give us Christian homes .

God give us Christian homes
Homes where the mother in queenly quest
Strives to show others thy way is best
Homes where the Lord is an honoured guest
God give us Christian homes …

Oh! What a great home! The Christian Home.
Highlighted below are few of the steps to take if you desire that Home.

1. Get Close to God while you're single .
Most singles today are too busy with the cares of the world and hardly develop their time tables to include God or the things of God.
How effectively you serve God while you're single determines how much of His presence you carry with you as yours years roll by, Remember you can't build a solid house on a weak foundation but there's room for repair, Oh ! You are now married , you've been married for several years , no matter his faulty you are, He can repair and FIX you.

2. Welcome Christ to your home.
Any Home where Christ is welcome is secure from perversion and the wiles of the devil .
Every home, life , business needs Him, until you welcome Him as an Honorable guest, That Home can't enjoy His direction.

3. Be committed to the things of God .
Be committed to the things of God, do the service actively and diligently, you can't claim to be godly and you handle the things of God with levity. When you get committed everyone around you and in your home replicates the same virtue.

4. Teach your home to love God.
If you teach your spouse and children the fear and love for God , there will be peace , joy and happiness in your home. A heart where God indwells will always seek to walk worthy of the name of Christ . there is nothing greater than building. Home after the heart of Christ . Remember your home is the GREATEST small nation that exists and influences the entire world, if every family member lives right , our community will be rightly judged and governed and our society will be built and remodelled to fit the Christ plan.

God Give us christian Homes.

Let us Pray!
Our Dear sovereign and eternal father, we've read in your word that nothing delights you than a home after your heart, a place where you inhabit and direct, Lord we need you to rebuild the foundation of our homes , lives , marriages so our lives can be remodelled to fit your purpose and plan for us and help us to stay continually on your track, these and more we ask of thee in the name of your precious son Jesus.
Amen!

MORNING CALM

Morning Calm

The Bible contains a lot of guidance for how to spend our time and energy: We’re to love and help others,1 share the good news of God’s love,2 and apply ourselves in our work,3 to name a few. But the Bible also teaches that sometimes it is best to stay put and let God work on our behalf.
“I’m going fishing,” Simon Peter told his fellow disciples.4
“We are going with you also,” they replied.
This was in the weeks following Jesus’ death. The disciples had seen Him twice since His resurrection,5 but it seems they were still at a loss as to what to do next. Some of them had been fishermen before Jesus had called them to follow Him,6 and perhaps going back to their former occupation seemed like the logical choice—plus it was something they could do.
But sometimes doing doesn’t get us very far.
It didn’t get Simon and his fishing partners very far that day. “They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing.”
Many of us can relate. We keep ourselves busy, actively doing things, but not always getting very far or accomplishing much.
Picture the disciples the next morning, tired, discouraged, and hungry. They had worked all night and received nothing for their labors. To top things off, an apparent stranger calls from the shore: “Have you any food?” No, they didn’t have any! It took the stranger’s instruction to “cast the net on the right side of the boat” for any of them to begin to guess that the stranger might be Jesus.
They did as the Master told them, and this time they did land some fish—153, to be exact. However, when they arrived at the shore, they saw fish already roasting over an open fire, and fresh bread. They had not needed to fish all night after all. Their Lord was more than able to satisfy their needs.
The next time you feel like your efforts aren’t getting you anywhere, remember that God doesn’t expect or want us to always be doing something; sometimes He wants us to simply be. A few moments of quiet reflection before starting a busy day can make all the difference to the outcome of that day. Be with God at the start, and He will be with you throughout.

1. See John 15:12; Matthew 19:21.
2. See Mark 16:15.
3. See 1 Thessalonians 4:11.
4. Read this story in John 21:3–13.
5. See John 21:14.
6. See Matthew 4:18, 21.

Don't Roll over , Beethoven! Anna Perlini

When my father had me listen to Beethoven's 6th Symphony for the first of many times, he was no doubt trying to impart his passion for classical music.
I was only a small child at the time, yet I remember it vividly. The music started off gently depicting a calm, peaceful pastoral scene, as I happily played at my father's feet. Then a little cloud came, and I started feeling a bit apprehensive and huddled closer to him. Along came a rumble of thunder, then lightning, and it kept building up until the storm got so powerful, so huge, so scary, that I ran to my father's arms.
He whispered comforting words, “Don't worry, my child. The storm will pass. See? It's already going away. The music is changing.”
Every so often we would listen again—eventually, I was the one asking for it. We would smile and laugh together when the peaceful tune came back after the climax—the peace and calm after the storm.
Many years passed, that little girl grew, and Beethoven's 6th Symphony was forgotten, replaced by many other soundtracks.
But eventually, the real storms of life arrived. During one particularly troubling time, someone gave me a CD of that symphony, and it happened all over again. I was moved to tears, realizing that my father had known all along what life would hold for me: peaceful days, heavy storms, and then peace again. It was as though he had wanted to prepare me in advance.
My heavenly Father's arms have always been so comforting, reassuring, and present, even when my earthly father wasn't around. They’ve helped me to hold on and keep up hope when all around me was chaos and turmoil, because eventually, every storm ceases, and all is calm again, and often even more beautiful and sparkling clear than before.
To this day, whenever I listen to that particular piece of music, I shed a few tears. I can't help it, really; it's my life's theme song.

5 Secrets to discovering God's will - Daniel Kolenda

Get Moving

Secret #5 - Part 2

This Bible study has been taken from chapter 10 of LIVE BEFORE YOU DIE

In order to fly, an airplane needs “lift.” Lift comes from speed, and speed comes from “thrust.” Thrust is the power that pushes the aircraft forward, and without it nothing else matters. The aerodynamic design, the well-trained pilot in the cockpit, the sophisticated navigational technology, and the tank full of jet fuel are all useless unless the engines come alive and provide forward motion. In your life the only one who can provide the forward motion is you. God will be your pilot. He will provide the wind beneath your wings and the fuel in your tank, but you have to give Him some momentum to work with. You cannot do God’s part, and God will not do your part. Your part is to get into gear, get off your backside, and get moving. Reinhard Bonnke has said, “God will lift you out of the deepest pit, but He won’t lift you out of an easy chair—you have to do that yourself.” So what are you waiting for? How long will you do nothing while you grow old in the wilderness of inaction?

It is true that God opens doors, and sometimes particular doors are not opened for a variety of reasons. But it is very unlikely that all the doors are shut. Imagine a man sitting at a red light in the downtown area of a big city. The light in front of him turns green, but when he looks ahead he sees that the next five lights are still red. Should he sit at the green light in front of him and just wait for all the other lights to turn green as well? Of course not! He should move through the green light he has. Yet many people fail to move through the green light God has given them because they foresee obstacles ahead that they don’t know how to handle.

In Joshua 3 we read about the children of Israel encountering the obstacle of the Jordan River, which was overflowing and impossible to cross. In obedience to the Lord Joshua told the priests to take the ark of the covenant and go forward into the waters of the Jordan. This surely would have seemed like a ridiculous idea, but look at what happened.
And when those who carried the ark came into the Jordan,
and the feet of the priests carrying the ark were dipped in
the edge of the water... the waters which were flowing down
from above stood and rose up in one heap... So the people
crossed opposite Jericho.  Joshua 3:15-16, NAS
Now if Joshua had been trained in one of our fine Bible colleges, he probably would have given more mature advice. He would have said, “Gentlemen, we are going to wait right here until the Lord ‘opens a door’ for us.” But if that had been his command, their skeletons would still be decomposing somewhere on the banks of the Jordan River, because the water was not going to part for them until their feet got wet! My friend, sometimes you need to just go ahead and get your feet wet in faith and see what the Lord will do for you!

In Matthew 14:22-29 we read the story of how Peter walked on the water. It was early in the morning when Jesus came walking toward the disciples’ boat on the turbulent sea. When the disciples saw Him, they thought it was a ghost and they cried out in fear, but Jesus said, “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

“Lord, if it’s You,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to You on the water.” “Come,” He said. Notice that Jesus didn’t say, “Peter, come.” He simply said, “Come.” Do you realize what this means? Any of the disciples could have responded to that word and walked on the water. People often criticize Peter for taking his eyes off Jesus and sinking, but I admire him for being the only one willing to get out of the boat. You will never walk on water if you’re not willing to step out of the boat!

This secret is so simple and yet underemphasized in the Christian world. Some people seem to think that taking action demonstrates a lack of faith. On the contrary, faith without works is dead! Said another way, faith without action is dead! All of the planning, waiting, and wishing is wasted time if you are not going to take action. If you want to learn to swim, you are going to have to go ahead and take the plunge.

We are usually all too aware of our inadequacies and deficiencies. The best way to address these issues is to begin to move forward. Momentum and motion will make everything in your life easier to steer. As you move forward, you’ll discover what really needs your attention, you’ll be incentivized to deal with it urgently, you’ll make the needed adjustments, and you’ll be able to empirically gauge your progress. You’ll discover that many of your previous concerns were nonsense and that you had never even considered many of the real issues you needed to confront.

Jack Canfield, the very successful businessman and author, wrote about this secret in his best-selling book The Success Principles: “Successful people have a bias for action. Most successful people I know have a low tolerance for excessive planning and talking about it. They are antsy to get going. They want to get started. They want the games to begin... Planning has its place, but it must be kept in perspective. Some people spend their whole lives waiting for the perfect time to do something. There’s rarely a ‘perfect’ time to do anything. What is important is to just get started. Get into the game. Get on the playing field. Once you do, you will start to get feedback that will help you make the corrections you need to make to be successful.”

We will continue this study in Chapter 10 "Five Secrets To Discovering God’s Will" Secret #5 - Part 3 - "Ready Fire Aim " in one week.

BIBLE STUDY SERIES 004

IS YOUR NAME IN THE BOOK OF LIFE ?

SERIES 004

Continued from last week ……………….(matt 5:16, I timothy 4vs12)

Does your character promote or defame Christ?
Character counts , integrity matters , what kind of character do you have? Are you a man or woman of personal integrity?
What makes a man a believer is not what he is on Sunday, but what he is from Monday through Saturday
The time to decide what you are going to do is not when you face the temptation to compromise, is it now! You determine the evening of your life by the morning of it. You determine what you will do tomorrow by what you resolve to do today.
Mistakes can be very costly, no matter how little they may appear at first.
Being a pastor , an evangelist , teacher etc is not an assurance of making heaven. Hence  the question ‘what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul” is not a question of death but of the afterlife”
You might have tried your best in the past, to live a holy and acceptable life, but its time you quit trying because with an abundance of our strength the spirit is absent but when we quit trying the spirit comes to our rescue.

Don’t miss the next series ………………..stay blessed.

BIBLE STUDY SERIES 003

IS YOUR NAME IN THE BOOK OF LIFE ?

BIBLE STUDY SERIES 003

Series 003

Continued from last post………..
Matthew 6: 33 states that we should seek the kingdom of God FIRST and His righteousness and every other thing shall be added unto us.
Am I seeking His kingdom first in my daily workings?
Are you seeking the kingdom of God in all spheres of your endeavors. Do you give Him first place or what do you consider most important.
There is more to seeking the kingdom than going to church everyday. It is more than the registration of attendance at every meeting in the church.
The  daily activities in all facets of our lives has to be guided by the WILL of God!
We are not believers just because we carry the bible , pray and go to church. One reason we are called believers is clearly expressed in the book of 1timothy 4: 12 …………when people look at you , do they see “an example of the believer in Word , in Conversation , in Love , in Spirit , In faith ? if so they’ll want to be like you and they’ll be drawn to the lord . Who gives the power to fulfill His Will,
In conclusion for this series …… Let your light so shine before men (Matthew 5 :16)

Let us Pray!
Our dear lord we have heard your word once again and seen that living the Christian life is all by your grace which is all that you require of us , Help us to conform to your will in Jesus name .
Amen

IS YOUR NAME IN THE BOOK OF LIFE - SERIES 002

IS YOUR NAME IN THE BOOK OF LIFE?
BIBLE STUDY SERIES.

SERIES 002

Continued from the last post………………….
It is not too late if you make amends where necessary NOW!
According to Revelations 3: 5 which states that “ He that overcometh , the same shall be clothed in white rainment , and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life but I will confess his name before my Father and before His angels……. “
The word OVERCOMETH in the verse above implies that we are in a race which I would liken to a “survival of the fittest race” our fitness in this case is not determined by our wisdom, intelligence , strength , and wealth but only dependent on our  obedience to the WORD of God. If we obey and do His words , our life pattern will be according to His will and we’lld live our lives in accordance with His Pre-ordained Purpose.
Let Us Pray!
Our dear Lord, thank You once again for your word , Help us to obey and do your will that our lives would be according to your purpose and we’lld be fulfilled on earth and reign with you in paradise. These and more we ask of you in Jesus name. Amen.

IS YOUR NAME IN THE BOOK OF LIFE ?

BIBLE STUDY SERIES 001

REVELATION 20: 12B, 3: 21, 11:18, 16: 15

One question every born-again christian must ask him/herself is this " is my name in the book of life"? it appears to be a rhetorical question without answers but the answers are dependent on the principles upon which our physical and spiritual lives are built.

For our names to be written in the lamb's book of life we have to do the will of the lamb. if your names are already written therein you must ensure to live right so as not to have the names blotted  out and for as many whose names are not yet written in that precious book of life , it is not too late if you can make amends where necessary NOW.

Let us Pray!
Our dear and sovereign Lord , as we begin this course help me to see my wrongs and the truths that are written in your word that i may know you more. Thank You heavenly Father .

Patiece :mother of all VIRTUES!

Daily reflections
EZEKIEL WILLIAM

PATIENCE : mother of all Virtues
Heb 6 : 15
…………………”and so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the Promise .
References : luke 8 : 15. 2Tim 6:11, Heb 6: 12s
Patience is one of the most important virtues that every man must possess. Patience makes the waiting process in life a hopeful one. An impatient man cannot receive blessings from God. No man or woman has ever received blessings from God at every tap of their finger, they have to wait and be tried or examined for a while. The process of trying us is not to bitter us but to better us.
Heb 6:12 reads……”that ye be not slothful but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Many have fasted and prayed for a long time about issues affecting their lives , families , finance and have become discouraged cos the answers seem not to be forth coming.
A preacher once said “if God answers all our Prayers and grants all our requests at once , the aim of Prayers and the need for God would be defeated, thereby making us independent entities. We are not made to self-exist, we are created to always depend on God. Therefore, there must always be that feeling of emptiness in us whenever we move away from Him.
Have you been praying for a spouse, Praying for a home. Finances , have you been praying for healing in your career, life ,  career and the answers seem so far away. Keep on trusting God .
Cast not away your confidence because God defers his performances. That which does not come in your time, will be hastened in His time, which is always the more convenient season.
                                                                                                                Matthew Henry

We need to understand that the waiting period in life is not usually as a result of sin, it is an important stage in the development of the promise itself, and remember the Dark Room is the most important stage in the development of the film.
One example among the patriarchs of Faith and patience is JOSEPH. He saw the promise, God confirmed the Promise, he claimed the promise and worked towards realizing it but he had to go through some hard times. He passed through the refining process- he went through from humiliation, reproach, ridicule and imprisonment made him the real Joseph when he became Governor of Egypt.
Remember, you get the chick by hatching the egg, not by smashing it.
It is important to note that every step you take during the waiting process determines how close or far you are to the promise. It is therefore important to go only where he goes and do only what he says , we have to wait until we receive the next command.
Remember the saying “the patient dog, eats the fattest bone” if the patient dog gets the fattest bone , then the patient man will get the best of everything in life.
A Christian without patience is like a soldier without arms.
Wait for it , for it shall come to pass and not tarry.
Amen !
