Ten lessons from the story of Isaac : LESSON SIX

Don't give up : Ten lessons from the story of Isaac
Day Six : Lesson Six
Tuesday 22nd September
'ISAAC GOT TO REHOBOTH BUT HE DIDN'T QUIT TRYING'

After Isaac left Sitnah , no one quarreled or strove with him any longer , why
They thought they've taken the best of his labours from him ( the fresh water wells ) it can be deduced from the Bible there was no account of water at the well in Rehoboth but opposition and strive ended , he said to himself , 'there's no point rejoicing here because opposition has seized when I can't reach water so he couldn't settle for less that what God has in store for him , he is not only looking for a peaceful location , but a location with proper allocation. A position with proper Provision , so he moved away from Rehoboth , though no one quarrelled with him again ( Genesis 26:22 )

Sometimes in life we get to some place and we seem welcome ,but we aren't getting the Provision and allocation needed to fulfill purpose there , Don't settle there because it is only a place of temporary rest , not a permanent location. Never settle for anything less than God's will for you, , Keep moving

Good Morning

Starting Small

Starting Small - Despise Not The Days Of Thy Humble Beginnings
Zechariah 4:8-10

….moreover the word of the lord came unto me, saying 'the hands of zerubbabel have laid foundation of this house, his hands shall also finish it , and thou shalt know that the lord of hosts hath sent me into you, for who hath despised the days of small things.

Every dream , every purpose , every vision always begins from the foundation. When you refuse to start small , you kill the vision.
In the pursuit of destiny - there is no such thing as a ready made man.
The building blocks are added to each other day after day as you continue to work relentlessly , though thy reward be small , but the keeps is kept alive .

The purpose of every man in life always begins from the active (conception) stage to growth or dormancy; when you first conceive the dream , it is alive and ready to grow but when you refuse to work it out it enter dormancy and becomes unproductive and then stops growing .

Every purpose or dream must undergo the humble stage and process of growth and development . until we accept the fact that there is no amount of prayer that will make a day old baby walk , we can't stop being anxious. When we limit our anxiety in trying to make the vision hit it big almost immediately from birth , we'll refocus our energy and concentration on helping it grow.

'It takes about nine months for the foetus in the woman to fully become a baby but if no conception is made , there can't be any expectations of delivery , so if you refuse to start small , don't expect a magical big or great tomorrow.

What will happen tomorrow will be as a result of what we have planted yesterday , and water today .

Start today, no matter how little you might have to start - the first requirement of becoming great is starting out. It doesn't matter how much faith you have, IF YOU DON'T START IT, DON'T EXPECT IT TO GROW.

What is that idea that God has deposited in your heart that you think is so small and intangible? Grow it , nurture it and you'll be amazed at what 'll become of it. Remember how the creation process started (Genesis 1)

Refuse to accept defeat, start and keep moving . remember , with God nothing shall be impossible .

………. A tortoise could reach the moon , so long it keeps moving …….

SURVIVING HARD TIMES

Weekend Digest
Sunday 26th July, 2015
SURVIVING HARD TIMES !
text : Psalm 23:4 .......yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for thou art with me , thy rod and thy staff they comfort me..

references : PS 40 , PS 42 , PS 43, Isaiah 55

philosophically .... rough times never last , but tough people do and they rise to the top in rough times .

Spiritually , hard Tims represent school time , a time if preparation for the next level of exploit , therefore every man or woman with a vision and a future is bound to encounter hard times in the course of their lives on earth, remember , no promotion comes without a TEST!

If you want to do exploits and make progress in your walk with Christ , then be prepared to pass through the fire of hard times because nothing else prepares us the refining furnace of hard times .Sometimes during hard times we often maintain the wrong attitude which cause us to linger longer in our pain .
The word of God has highlighted the proper attitude to surviving difficult times , if we follow them carefully , we would come out of the difficult situation better equipped with the strength. needed for the next level of exploits ..........

The three basic keys to surviving hard times are

1. Don't be too weak to pray ! sometimes during the storm we get so discouraged and weak to carry on , we feel neglected and rejected , but we must encourage ourselves in the word of God , remember the popular verse , ......... weeping may endure form the night but joy comes in the morning ,
no matter how long the darkness stays , light would appear , always believe that God is with you and you still need to maintain your relationship with Him in prayer and the word .
get strengthened by the word and keep the prayed flame up, let it burn full flame , it is your only sure way out of the storm .

2. Praise gives the RAISE
God deserves our praise always but you are true and worthy child if you gives Him more praise when things seem to be falling apart rather than when you're getting answers to your requests., when you praise God in your storm , you ascribe all power to Him , that means you acknowledge Him as the Lord , true and faithful , the only one who can bring a change to your unpleasant experience , Until you learn to praise Him before you complain , you may lengthen your stay in the wilderness .

3. Christ's Pain , your Gain ; Your Pain , Others' gain
sometimes we forget that God takes us through some hard and difficult lessons and classes for a purpose , nothing in the wall with Christ comes by happenstance , they are all planned by God for a purpose , use your pain to comfort others , sometimes the best mentors are those who've been to 'hell' and come back ..........

Remember , God sometimes takes us to troubled waters , not to drown us
but to cleanse us .

FAITH OR FEAR ? EVANGELIST REINHARD BONNKE

Part 1 - Introduction

This Bible study has been taken from chapter 22 of FAITH THE LINK TO GOD'S POWER

Fear is natural and good; so are eating and drinking. They are normal parts of our make-up. They are also essential to human life, including fear. But none of them is always good. Some people have a compulsion to eat, some have an addiction for drink, some are obsessed with sex, and some are possessed with fears. To be gluttons, drunks, or immoral people means we are guilty, and we are just as guilty when we allow fears to dominate our lives.

We can be hooked on fear. What then? Only fear can get us off the hook. It is the only known antidote to the cobra’s bite of obsessive alarm. Jesus said, “Do not be afraid; only believe” (Luke 8:50). Why does He say “only?” Because that is all we can do—we can only believe when that curse threatens us. It is also all we need to do. It might be a case of great fear, and little faith leaves us in fearful danger. Fear and worry are killers.

In the Bible we learn some fear is good and some is bad. The books of Psalms and Proverbs speak of “the fear of the Lord” as a virtue fourteen times. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” (Psalm 111:10), “a fountain of life” (Proverbs 14:27), and “riches and honor and life” (Proverbs 22:4). Yet 1 John 4:18 says, “Fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.”

In Exodus 20:20, we find both aspects: “Do not fear; for God has come to test you, and that His fear may be before you, so that you may not sin.” How can fear be both good and bad? The answer depends on what or whom we fear. To fear God is a wholesome attitude. When we fear the devil, it is a sign we do not fear God, which means we have no faith.

Analysis of Fear

The essence of fear is being faced with something greater than ourselves, some greater person or Being or intelligence or power. Our fear lies with whatever we see as the greatest thing. If we see God as the greatest, we will fear God more than the devil or men. If we fear the devil the most, we think of him as being greater than God.

The fear of the Lord is good. The Lord is great—great in significance, great in wisdom, and great in power. Fear of God has a salutary effect upon our lives because it is a healthy fear, producing good. We will not put a foot wrong when we walk before the Lord. If we know He holds us in His hands, we will “hate evil,” as Proverbs 8:13 says. Fearing God makes us godly.

We have a healthy respect for God because of His overwhelming power, but also because of His unmovable will. Nothing changes His purposes. He is great enough to crush us, but great enough also to show us mercy. The fear of the Lord is the only good fear. Other fears are bad—worry, anxiety, dread, and panic, as well as living in mortal dread. That is a terrible state of mind, but there is an answer—to fear God and to trust Him.

10 LESSONS TO LEARN FROM MOHAMMED BUHARI’S VICTORY

REFLECTIONS ……….APRIL 001

10 LESSONS TO LEARN FROM MOHAMMED BUHARI’S VICTORY
E.O.T William

As we celebrate and rejoice over the victory of the great man, the Abraham Lincoln of Nigeria, President-Elect, General Mohammed Buhari at the just concluded Nigerian general Elections, we must remember that all things work together for good and that there are lessons to learn from every situation. Highlighted below are ten lessons that everyone needs to learn from the entire script of events.

1.      IDENTIFY YOUR DREAM…………. It is one thing to be a dreamer, it as another to be conscious of the dream.
What exactly do I want?
Taking a cue from President-Elect Buhari’s case , having tried for three consecutive terms, and maintained his position, we discovered that he wasn’t just seeking a political office , not just an appointment or just a name in politics , he is convinced beyond doubt that he can become the President of Nigeria.
That brings us to the conclusion that not having a dream at all is better than not knowing what your true dream is.
You must discover that dream , uncover that long term ambition and be ready to stick to it come rain come shine.

2.      HAVE A NAME AND PROTECT IT…………….

It is true many people have dreams, but not many people have what it takes to bring the dream to pass, one of such virtues is to build a strong reputation for yourself.
Nothing promotes you than a good name. some people can choose to mess up with themselves once they get to certain positions but its best to always remember your name and protect it. We can’t neglect our integrity today and expect it to count for us tomorrow….. in the course of your pursuits in life , always remember that every action of yours has a corresponding consequence waiting for you.

3.      BE ENCOURAGED
Ever wonder why many people start a race and only a few persons end it, the answer is not farfetched , it lies in being encouraged , being courageous enough to believe in the dream even in the bad times. Life sometimes won’t be fair, a lot of tries most times might not yield result but keep moving, don’t faint and always remember that you are not yet a failure until you QUIT. Stay calm and keep your head high.
You might not get there after the first try or even after the hundredth try …….keep moving remember Abraham Lincoln of America.

4.      ACCEPT THE FACT THAT IT WON’T BE EASY

The truth as they say is a bitter pill to swallow, but every great man or woman determined to be successful will acknowledge the truth that success takes time and it is most times a rough ride.
Never pray for an easy ride to success or breakthrough because it won’t come , instead pray for the strength to carry on, remember great dreams always come with great delays and great persecutions, don’t get worked out ….hold on to your dream.

5.      NEVER DESPISE ANYONE’S DREAM

Like the old saying “never look down on anyone, except you are admiring their shoe”…….sometimes we get a point in life where we feel some people aren’t just the perfect match for the dreams they pursue, it’s not your job to measure their qualification for a dream or their capability, we often conclude by saying this man or woman is aiming to get an oversized shoe, remember no dream is greater than any man or woman willing to bring it to pass, no matter how over qualified and connected you may find yourself, remember Ecclesiastes 9:11……….. I returned and saw under the sun , that the race is not for the swift nor the battle for the strong neither yet bread to the wise nor yet riches to men of understanding , nor yet favor to men of skill, but time and chances happened to them all…………. Don’t do what Joseph’s siblings did or act like Saul did to David, Pursue your own dreams and allow others to go after their dreams.

6.      DON’T RUN A SOLO RACE
Oftentimes in life , we get trapped at this point, we want to take all the credit for the work, we don’t want anyone else to share in the praise and accolades we will get for the accomplishment of our dream, we want to drive the vision from start to finish all alone.
No! You can’t run a solo race in life and fulfill your God given dream; neither can you get anywhere if you walk alone.
It is true you are the carrier of your dream but you need people who will make it happen remember JOSEPH, ISAAC, ESTHER, and even our very own Nigerian BUHARI

7.      NOT JUST A COMPANY BUT THE RIGHT ONE

It is true you can’t fly solo, yes, you need people, but you need only the right set of persons in your camp. Nothing is as good as having the right set of persons in your camp. Daniel had the right set of persons around him, they saw his vision and believed in Him and he kept moving on even in the face of fierce opposition. Another example was King Saul, he was a good person, anointed to rule but he had the wrong people around him and that led to his fall.

8.      DON’T GET INTIMIDATED

As you move on in your quest to fulfilling purpose, you’ll find a lot of qualified and over qualified persons running the race with you, this is not to undermine the place and effect of personal development, (never run today’s race with yesterday’s knowledge), so the room for personal development is wide and always open. but never give up on your dream just because someone else looks good or better than you. You can fulfill your dream regardless of how good you are compared to other persons remember you were created by God to succeed and do exploits so never compare yourself with anyone and never get intimidated by someone else’s achievements. Believe in your own dreams even if no one believes in them remember you can’t be discouraged by anyone unless you first discourage yourself, some people will give you hundreds of reasons why you can’t make it , all you need is just one reason why you can, Believe first in yourself and hold on to your dream.

9.      HELP SOMEONE ELSE’S DREAM
As you continue to pursue your dreams and purpose, never get carried away by your own self and the desire to succeed or outshine others, your goals and dreams are unique, therefore help other people’s dream come alive. Lend a helping hand to people, remember we sometimes get what we want by helping others get what they want,(the story of Abraham and the strangers , Jacob and Laban )
“Help thy brother’s boat across the seas and lo! Thine own has reached the shore”
When you help other people achieve their dreams, more people will see the goldmine in you and also help you in return.

10. DON’T BE TOO PROUD TO SEEK HELP

Don’t give room to Pride; it will always block opportunities for you to be helped. Most times in life we come across people who need help but oftentimes feel too big to ask for help, many have failed, or fallen from great positions because of pride, they feel too great to need the help of the common person or the assistance of persons lower than them in status.
Pride offers nothing but failure and destruction. Thinking about your status always brings you to a state of isolation where you find help in no one and you feel it isn’t just right for you to seek help.
Learn to ask remember the Bible says …….. ASK and it shall be GIVEN, SEEK and you shall FIND………….Matthew 7:7, there are lots of benefits in asking people around you for help.

A SPECIAL NOTE FOR YOU ON MY BIRTHDÀY

A SPECIAL NOTE FOR YOU ON MY BIRTHDAY .......

31st March,
E.O.T William
Psalm 90:12 ……. So teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom ..

CHRIST or CARES ?(Matthew 13:22)
As I mark yet another great new year on earth today , the holy spirit ministered to me this morning and gave me this word for you…. Christ or Cares?
He said , write to my people about the greatest purpose for which they were made.

The chiefest thing we can do for God here on earth is not to win a million souls , plant a million churches , sow a million seed as offering but to LIVE for CHRIST .
while we were growing up , we were so attached and glued to him but as we grow older by the day we got so carried away by the cares of the world .
Here is a call , to return unto Christ , a call to come back to that which is important and lay aside that which profiteth not. Is your life for Christ or are you still Chasing the wind?

Matthew 6:33……. But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness(Christ) and all these things (cares) shall be added unto you.

You don't have to run after the cares of this world, they were created to serve you.(Psalm 8)
But until you align yourself in Christ , you can't enjoy dominion over the things made by God. Ever wonder why those who really sweat do not make any meaning with their lives , its simply because they trusted their sweat but we know , its not of he that willeth …………………….but of God that showeth mercy … hence , the rat race many run today . ……….they run and run and run but end up frustrated .
Return to the focal point today , remember you were created first to live for Him (Romans 12) . let nothing distract you ; worries , troubles , cares and aspirations ……… Only in God can you become something (Without Him , we are NOTHING) Only God can make Something out of Nothing (Calling out those things that were not as though they were )
And finally , life outside Christ is always full of crisis remember , In Him there's surety ……

In His Service ,
Ezekiel O Peter.

OBEDIENCE : KEY TO LONG LIFE

OBEDIENCE : KEY TO LONG LIFE

Proverbs 4:10b
Hear , O my son , and receive my sayings, and the years of thy life shall be many.
Proverbs 3:1-2, Psalm 119:165

Obedience is either in full or nothing
There is no such thing as partial obedience .
E.O.T William

The key to ,long life is to obey all the instruction of our maker. Until we learn to obey Gods word we can't benefit or inherit generational blessings .
Gods principles are already set and they can't change . he won't have to bend his rules to suit us, NO! , we are to bend our lives to fit into his laws.

One of the. Most rewarding virtues in life is OBEDIENCE. The tree of obedience yields a lot of fruits but obedience is one of the values we don't give credence to as Christians . we often overlook obedience and expect to receive generational blessings .
We can't expect to receive what Abraham received without doing what Abraham did .

No man or woman can please God if he/she won't obey Gods laws. Abraham was a man who obeyed God and it was counted unto him as righteousness .

What is God asking you to forsake ? Or requesting you to do today? He is not asking for took much , He only wants the best for you and he has the best in store for you.

Heb 5:9 …………….
God is calling on you today to review your obedience life ,
Have you been obeying God in part? Bear in mind that partial obedience is as good as total disobedience. He wants us to fully obey all of his laws , then can we inherit generational blessings and promises .
Deuteronomy 11:27

What a loving father, determine today to begin a life of complete obedience and the rewards shall follow in Jesus name .
Amen

Unbelief is a deadly Enemy 2

Pastor Daniel Kolenda - CFAN

It’s true that some people have more of a measure of faith than others. Some have faith like an apple seed. Some have faith like a peach pit. And some people have the smallest measure of faith—like a mustard seed. But it doesn’t really matter much because even if you have mustard seed faith, you still have enough to move mountains! So then some may ask, “What is the problem? Why haven’t I seen the mountains in my own life moving out of my way?”

Let us consider the context of the verse where Jesus talked about mountain-moving faith. The story is found in Matthew 17:1421. A certain man with a demon-possessed son had come to Jesus’s disciples for help, but when they could not cast out the evil spirits, they asked Jesus why they had been so unsuccessful. He said to them, “Because of your unbelief” (v. 20). This is a very clear and precise explanation that Jesus reiterated by going on to say, “For verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you” (v. 20). So far this seems very straightforward. But the simplicity and clarity of this statement is often overshadowed by confusion over the next words Jesus spoke: “Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting” (v. 21).

It almost sounds as if Jesus contradicted Himself. When asked why the disciples had not been able to exorcize the demon, He said it was because of unbelief. But now He seems to be saying that it is because they had not fasted and prayed enough. Which is it? The confusion comes when we fail to realize the moral of the story. At first glance it may appear that the demon is the focal point of this account, but a closer look will reveal that the real antagonist in this story is not the demon but the spirit of unbelief. The disciples were concerned about the demon inside the boy, but Jesus was concerned about the unbelief inside His disciples. The disciples’ question was about casting out demons, but Jesus’s answer was about casting out doubt. Jesus knew that once unbelief has been cast out, exorcizing demons would be a piece of cake.

Sometimes we have to pray long prayers and fast for many days before we get the victory, but it is not because our appeals coerce God into doing something. And it is not because we have finally earned the answer to our prayers by logging enough credit hours into our spiritual bank account.

Much fasting and prayer may be necessary and useful in helping us gain victory over our own stubborn flesh and cast out the spirit of unbelief that blocks God’s power from flowing through us. It is this kind of unbelief that goes out only “by prayer and fasting. It is also worth mentioning that some manuscripts do not contain the statement about prayer and fasting at all, which is why many Bible translations have left it out completely. Any way you look at it, faith is the key to powerful prayer. This is the point Jesus made in this story.

In Matthew 9:25, when Jairus’s daughter died, Jesus had to send everyone out of the room before He could raise her from the dead. Why didn’t He allow all those scornful skeptics to see the miracle with their own eyes? Because He had to cast the unbelief out. Peter did the same thing in Acts 9:40: “But Peter sent them all out and knelt down and prayed, and turning to the body, he said, ‘Tabitha, arise.’ And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up” (NAS). Jesus taught His disciples a lesson: Cast the spirit of unbelief out, and nothing will be able to stand against you. Demons, death, and even the most formidable mountains will obey your command.

Investors often “diversify” their investments because if one venture doesn’t work out, they want to have something else to fall back on. So a common idiom in the business world is, “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.” That means, don’t put all your resources into one investment because if one of your “baskets” breaks and all your “eggs” are in it, you will lose everything. You see, if you are holding back some of your “eggs,” it means you are not 100 percent confident that a particular basket will hold. You may be 50 percent confident or even 99 percent confident, but that small percentage of apprehension is what I am calling “unbelief.” So how do you know when you’ve gotten rid of all the unbelief? When you’ve put all of your eggs into God’s basket.
